First I must add, that the sample photo's shown on this forum are so very Impressive and inspiring!!! Just to understand what you have done will keep me busy for a life time!!!

I’m trying to learn how to photograph water drops and need a little help with this project.

My first question is how do I get more color, deeper colors to light the water in the bowl and water drops.

I’m using a SB-800 flash off and to the side my D200 camera so I’m only lighting the background. It is my limited understanding that the trick is to light the background only and this will add color to the water in the bowl and water drops.

I’m using the Nikon 105 micro f2.8 lens and I do have the Kenko extension tubes on standby, but understand that they are not needed at this point.

The following two photos are #1 first attempt and #2 is how my flash, camera, background, and water bowl is set up. (my grandkids helped with the background)
