"ogre spider/ net casting tips?"

I will be in a region that is blessed with ogre spiders.

Anyone have any tips on photographing the spider and its work with he woven net?

I'm interested in not just photography-related tips but also behavioral. I haven't seen these critters before. Is there a good way to get them into a useful pose? I prefer my macro photos to be taken in the field, not staged indoors.

My pertinent gear:
D300, SB600, SB-29 (perhaps R1 by the time of the trip). Few other light-triggered off-camera flashes of several types.

Thanks for thoughts!
