"Damselfly with bright background"

For this photo I decided to use flash to avoid motion blur. I also increased the ISO to avoid that the background would get dark.

I'm still undecided about the crossing lines in the background.

I like it as it is,Henning. I had thought that opening the lens up more to throw those diagonal lines more out of focus would help but the more I looked at it I don't think it would have made that much of a difference. Nicely done.

Hi Rick,

Thanks a lot for your comment. As this was shot handheld I tried to close down the aperture to compensate for movements while handholding.

I feel they add to the picture rather than detract. Fine as is. Nice shot!

Thanks Colin, it's nice to know that the crossing lines are not disturbing.
Thanks again.

A good picture, I think the crossed lines are blurred enough not to bother. Would it not have been possible to shoot at 1/250?

Hi Aart

Thanks for you comment.

Changing the shutter speed to 1/250s would have been possible, if I at the same time would increase the flash. But keeping the ISO and aperture fixed at the same time would also mean that the background would have been two stops darker and this is what I tried to avoid by shooting close to the ambient level of light.
