"Glowing hot..."
Mon 03-Dec-12 10:12 PM by snaefell

Hi,
this image shows the glowing hot filament of a small lightbulb. Taken with a D3, approximately 75mm of extension rings (my bellows was unfortunately not available) and a 35mm lens. The image is a fusion of four differently exposed images using Photomatix. Unfortunately its slightly to late for the gadget competition, but at least it got me doing it (lightbulbs fascinate for quite a while).

Nice effort Christian. Looks like you have a hot pixel in the bottom right corner of the frame

Cheers

Thanks for the comment. I checked the original images (and a couple of other night shots as well) a luckily I don't see any hotpixels there. This must be an artefact from the fusion of the images in Photomatix.
