Caught with wrong lens for the job, I shot it anyway. D300 with Nikon 300/4 and 1.4 TC at f10, 1/500/ ISO 800.

Great image,T.J. Why do you say wrong lens ? There are many,many people that shoot such subjects with that lens with tcs or tubes or all alone and it gives great results.

Rick,
My mind gets confabulated at times. I think of shorter lenses for closeups and tells for long shots. Had I gone expecting to see that fellow, I'd likely have had the 28-300 Nikkor on the body. But thanks for the nice words. Maybe I'll learn.
