This is one of series of shots I took of Jagged Ambush Bugs, they make for great subjects as they do not move much, they sit in ambush of much larger insects.

Ambush bugs are true bugs and the venom they inject can be, I am told very painful, but without lasting affect.

The challenges include their small size (around 10mm), the other insects and bugs around them, the wind (high up in goldenrod, any breath of air had an effect) etc.

105mm, extension tubes, usually 36 plus 24, and I still had to crop, ISO 100, F14, 1/320sec SB 900, SD-9, Lastolite Speedlite Softbox, focusing rail and tripod.
