Thanks Gary. Have you ever tried a TC with your 300F4 ? I'm finding that it works quite well with the 300F4 shooting insects.

These are all with the nikon 300F4 lens and for smaller bugs I often switch out to the 105mmVR lens

Great shots. I have been trying to take a photo of one of these for a while. They are skittish. I may have one in today's efforts. But if you have tips I would be interested (time of day, approach etc.) I would be grateful.

Thanks Victor. I find,the earlier the better and always approach slowly with no sudden moves. Using a longer lens with tubes or an extender is also a great help. Try to keep camera plane as parallel to the subject as possible and step down for greater depth of field if the background allows it.
