Diane, I really like the feel of this shot. I can almost smell the roses and feel the cool, damp morning air. I think the image would have benefitted from an off centered composition, or maybe including another rose, possibly unopened, in the frame. But then again this is the close up photography forum so maybe a just little tighter crop.

Thanks, Scottie. I will play around a little more with the crop. I had some distracting light spots showing through the foliage that I was trying to keep out.

I'm going to start carrying some small sharp pruners with me to get rid of "uglies" in my garden photos! I didn't even see that brown leaf until too late. I'm learning to look hard as I compose.

I will have lots more opportunities for photos of roses on that bush---it is loaded with buds.
