Can someone tell me what the differences are between a normal micro lens such as the 105 2.8 AF D or the 55 2.8 AF that both go 1:1 without assistance, and mounting a 24 AF D (or any other lens) in reverse?

What is the purpose or different effect that is achieved?

What would happen if you mounted a micro lens in reverse???
