This conveys the atmosphere of a wintery (and cold?) day very effectively. Did you do any (selected?) desaturation in PP or is it "as is"?

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by "as is".
But after opening in LR, I ran the picture through a receipe in Nik software's color efex. Hope this answers your question.

Paul. What I meant is.... did you adjust the saturation or did you leave it alone?

Hi,

The only thing in LR was to increase the exposure.
Did not touch saturation. The effect is entirely achieved using Nik
software. (Nik receipe)

It is not always clear what exactly goes on in a given receipe, except that you can tweak some of the parameters. It's a bit like driving a car and not knowing how the engine works. But you get where you want to be

I like your image....

Yes, I agree that posting can be challenging, especially if you post from your gallery.

It is a little easier if, as I recommend, you post within the Forum using an image sized at 1200 pixel on longest side as maximum and no larger then 300 megapixel in overall file size. That way, everyone sees your image larger.

A beautiful composition, I especially like the way the boat injects a counterpoint to the flow. The toning, too, is very attractive. I only wish there were a bit more foreground.
