"Guilhem le desert"

Reading, GB

South of France near Montpellier and the Mediterranean
This is a stone village beautifully restored. I took this shot in winter when the sun was already low and the shadows are quite strong.

Thank you Scott.Yes, the village is built along quite a steep slope which I think lends itself to this interpretation.

Thank you Larry. I found that the play of light and shadow fitted this shot quite well, despite the fact that the tones are pretty cold in the shadows.

Very nice

This looks like the kind of town you could enjoy just walking around and photographing for the day. I like the vertical composition here as well...works very nicely with the subject matter. Nice contrast between the sun and shadows.

cheers

Nice photo Jean-Luc.

Guilhem-le-désert is a fantastic place while difficult to photograph when one wants to have a more global view. You succeeded to transmit the ambiance of this village.

Très joli!
