"river of daffodils"

McEwen, US

These were made at Land Between the Lakes near the KY/TN state line. Daffodils like these are scattered all over the area, escaped and naturalized from former home sites.

I think my favorite is the second one. Closer subject in the flowers. The top one is nice, however as well.

Thanks, I had a hard time getting the second one, it was a breezy day and the blooms kept moving out of focus.

Hi, Diane. I like the second shot too, but I think that it could use a few more flowers in the green area in the lower center-right. Shooting flowers in the wind is quite a challenge.

Hmmmm a little Photoshop work might fix that, if my skills ever get good enough.

I prefer the first one, as it leads thew viewer into the picture. In #2 the problem, IMO, is that there a certain distance at which the flowers are sharp, and then there are blurred ones in front of and behind that distance. But since the photo was shot almost horizontally, increased distance is not converted to gradually increasing blur. Instead the sharp flowers are simply interleaved with the blurred ones. #1 is very nice in this respect.

Regards, Antero

I understand exactly what you are saying, Antero. A gradual blur would be ideal.

Nice thing is, this spot is not too far from my home and I bet those daffodils will be there next spring!

Coolmom...the first photo is just beautifully illustrated (?) I like the sea of yellows in flowers (though my husband thought otherwise). I think this one is well worth hanging on a wall....I love it very much!
