"Dusting of Snow"

Several days ago we had a light dusting of snow. Here is the same image treated two different ways. The 1st is NX2 with a few tweaks in Topaz and the second is that treatment now worked in the new Topaz Black and White Effects 2.

Those are both gorgeous images... my personal preference is the color version. I like the difference in light quality between the shade and sun areas.

Both nice, but distinctively nice in the B&W treatment

I like the B&W, but I really love the popping blue in the first image. I think it's just a preference issue because both are very nice images.

Cheers!

Rick:

I agree with the others, both images are very nice.

I prefer the color version because it has a greater sense of three dimensional depth ... The foreground weeds, the bank of trees in the middle, and finally, the blue sky behind it all.

To my eye, the B/W version appears two dimensional, with flat lighting.

Nicely done, thanks for posting.
