"Little Wild Horse Canyon"

Traverse City, US

My best buddy and travel companion, Anna, and I drove down to Little Wild Horse Canyon Saturday morning to hike this beautiful slot canyon. Best part about the trip other than the scenery - we had the entire canyon to ourselves. Temperature was pretty chilly and this is definitely not tourist season but the hike was very nice.

All shot with D800E and Nikon 24-120 f4

Those are great! The first and last ones are my favorites. I like the addition of the human element in the last one.

Thanks Diane

I looked at a couple shots without Anna in them and she really helps provide some perspective of the size of this place. Looking forward to seeing some more National Parks in the coming weeks,

Peter

Having never seen them, these slot canyons amaze me. Also like the ones with Anna in them the best...gives a nice perspective.

Thanks Don

In some spots it was so tight getting thru we had to lean to the right and balance ourselves on the wall with our hand to keep moving.... at a pretty good angle. Got a bit claustrophobic. But what a beautiful place....in several places coming around a corner you could feel the wind blowing pretty good. Felt like being inside a chimney.

cheers
Peter

Couldn't have picked a better time. We met some people on the way to the trail head for the canyon but they were on their way out of the park...so It was a very peaceful hike thru here.

We got snowed out yesterday and had to cancel a trip to Arches but we're heading down to Bryce and Zion this weekend...so should have some new pics to post next week.
