"Winter"

Rocky Hill, US

Not much for snow so far this winter.Had a small snowstorm a few days ago. The 1st image is right after the rain that followed the snow ended. Still very dreary and overcast. The 2nd image is the following day.

D300,28-70F2.8D,F/11@1/6 and 1/60,tripod,manual,ISO 100,CPL for the 2nd shot

I like them both. Excellent control of the bright snow with no blown highlights.
And the sunshine on the snow in the second picture adds some life to it.

For me, that first shot has real impact.

I can feel that cold water, coming over the waterfall.

Number 2 a nice shot, too.

Might not be much snow, but that 1st shot is beautiful. Shutter speed is perfect for the water.

Hi Rick,

I like them both, but I prefer the second one. The light is superb.

It does seem oversharpened though. Is it the same with your original or is the reduction that created this impression?

Great composition and the water is truly a superb mirror!

Thanks,Yvan. Yes,I think it is over sharpened as well after seeing it when posted. Have planned on redoing the sharpening.

Excellent shots. You really captured the cold feeling in the first, makes me feel like I need a coat on to view it.
