"Late Autumn in Copenhagen"

Perth, AU

I caught this late one afternoon recently in Copenhagen.

The late autumn colours were really great. Comments appreciated.

Is it me, or is the horizon leaning to the left ?

I had a real problem with the horizon. It is a lake that has a curved edge. When I fixed the horizon, the house looked tilted and so I left the house vertical and suffered the problem with the lake edge.

I do like this a lot and am interested in why viewers may not share my appreciation. I have straightened the horizon and added a light HDR preset from LR4. Improvement or not?

Hi John. Let me give you my honest opinion.

Firstly, it does look better with the horizon fixed.
But... the actual scene doesn't appeal too much to me. It's hard to be exactly sure why but...
the house doesn't look that attractive with the white area across the bottom.. garage/boat doors? Also the curving white walkway somehow jars. The background trees have a nice colour but somehow don't look so great with the colour of the reeds in the foreground.

Now remember, thi is just how I see and is a personal viewpoint.

I don't dislike the image but I can't be too enthusiastic about it either.
I wasn't going to comment and wouldn't have done if you had not revisited it and asked for comments. Hope that is OK with you.
Derek

For me the branches in the foreground were very distracting. Removed them and then added a little glamor glow.
