"Morning at White Sands"

Shot this during ANPAT last month. Still going through the 1300 or so images I shot. Tried 2 different crops. I think I like the first better than the second.

I'm sure that's a Nikonian in the frame but I'm not sure who it is. We were the only ones in that part of the park at that time.

D800, 24-70 f2.8 @ 70mm, 1/45s, f/8, ISO 100, tripod

I can't tell you who the Nikonian is, but I like #2 better. IMO #1 has too much uninteresting space at the bottom of the frame. The subtle colors on the mountains and the sand are great.

Actually as I remember it I think the soft lighting is more representative of the actual scene, but the punchier version does have some appeal.
