"Fall Colors in Napa"

Napa, US

Hi All,

The vineyards in Napa Valley are beginning to change color. The vines are mostly green with some patches of yellow. However, there are certain vineyards that have already turned red. Since we had frost this morning, things may start to change quickly.

I was out this morning and captured a few images in a vineyard along Silverado Trail.

Very nice, Brian. I particularly like the backlit leaves (#2 in particular). The grapes are quite nice too - you captured the bloom nicely.

A note, however. Please review the new posting guidelines (in either of the "pictures" forums. To conserve bandwidth (a major expense to the site) we're requiring members to post or link to no more than three images per day. That is a limit for the entire site, not individual forums. Thanks for understanding our new posting policies. Regards -

Jim,

Thanks for the compliments. I was not aware of the posting requirements. BTW, I removed several of the images.

Thanks again,

They are all nice, but the last pic is excellent! Maybe a bit more saturation will make it even better. Nice job Brian.

Wonderful colors, Brian, and they're tack sharp.
Plus, I'm a HUGE fan of
back light!!

Got any camera information for us?

Thanks for sharing these!

Lela,

Thank for the compliments - I love back lighting too!

These images were all digital capture with my D100. Afterwards, I made minor exposure adjustments and applied a moderate amount of sharpening in Nikon Capture before converting to JPG.

Brian,

These are very nice,

At least someone in Western Hemisphere had decent fall colours this year. Well done.
