Who comes up with those names? This guy crashed into our front doors and was kind enough to come into the studio for a formal portrait shoot before he recovered enough to fly away.

Michael,
you are right! That's a Zonotrichia Albicollis. He's standing on the red list of endangered species (2006). I think, thats a very seldom chance, to take this photo.

The names for North American species are decided upon by committee of the American Ornithologists' Union (http://www.aou.org/).
