Snowy cardinal

I was passing an upstairs window at home today when I spotted a flash of red in our cedar tree. It was this guy trying to keep warm.

It is 4 degrees Fahrenheit here and gusty, following an overnight snowstorm. I grabbed the camera with my 70-300mm VR on it and got off three shots before he skipped off deeper into the branches. I never even had time to adjust ISO or other settings.
