Air Temp 7 ( -15c ) Fahrenheit 15mph wind and snowing.
Took several shots and got the heck out of there as the Camera did not like it neither did my fingers..

John: that's a beautiful shot of a beautiful bird. On my monitor, the white feathers on the bird's face don't show much in the way of detail. Would it be possible to bring down those highlights? Richard

I dont see any highlights in NX2...just a bit of high pass to the shot.
Twas not the best shooting conditions ..

Hi Dave , Just the one Owl.
I was only there for 20mins the temp was nasty and the Camera was shooting blanks every 3rd shot...VR was not doing well either.
So I got the heck out of there.

Very nice Kip. I had some good light in the morning - it was even colder - and this juvenile here did some nice flying for me. I was out with him for two hours. Everyone else stayed in their cars!

Hi Jim ..The light was not the best never did see the sun.

The D200 was doing its blank screen stuff again ,sure does not like the cold so I packed it in.
Maybe on the weekend weather will warm up a BIT.

Great picture, Kip. In my view focus and exposure are spot on. As for frozen fingers I'm still looking for a warm glove that is thin and flexible enough to allow me the necessary freedom to manipulate the camera and lens easily. Sounds like an oxymoron, though.

Koos Ia m working on a home made glove made up of several gloves..
When its tried and proven to keep the hands comfortable and still can control the Camera functions I will let you know.
