"Cedar Waxwing"

springfield, US

I had to cancel out on a trip to a Federal Wildlife Refuge this morning because of the Federal closure ugh!!! I lost $74 on the motel cancelation. So I walked a familiar trail and ran across a flock of Waxwings.

I took the two images with my d4, Nikon 500mm f4.0 vr lens and my tc 1.7EII to make 850mm focal length. I have found that the tc 1.7EII is not as good as my tc 1.4EII in image quality but need it sometimes when I am shooting small birds.

Thanks everybody. These birds move in flocks and really never sit still. I have to be ready and shoot quickly.

Hi Larry, a very nice set. The yellow really shows on the tails. Too bad about the refuge being closed, but the waxwings are always exciting to photograph.

Tom

PS, the 1.7tc is not that great on the 600mm either.

Has anyone noticed that they can not post new threads under this wildlife forum? I tried a couple times last night and once today to not have the thread show up?
