"A Couple From The Water And Woods...."
Tue 30-Jul-13 11:11 AM by Lunastar

Here's a few images shot from the water and woodlots. The deer images were made after I donned waders and crossed a flooded river bottom and then hiked a mile to sit in a mosquito infested blind in a dense stand of sumac. Even my Thermacell and repellent wouldn't stop the biting beasts! I left with few shots, dozens of bites and ten wood ticks!

Loon images made with D300 and 200-400 w/14TC.
Deer, D300 and 200-400/4 lens,

Mark

Beautiful shots Mark, well done. I especially like the first duck, great color and reflection. That 200-400 doing a great job. Your a true wildlife photographer with what you endured.

Thanks, Tom! I think I'll concentrate on water images for a while as there are no bugs to contend with!

Thanks, Al! Those bugs are really hampering my photo treks this year and the whitetails are also being quite elusive. The bucks didn't show up in the meadow I was hiding in until the light was a bit too bright.

Hi Mark, they all are very nice. Especially like loon # 1. Very nice deer images, too. I'm seeing deer in my area that are past the velvet stage.
