Well done as usual Dave. I'm reserving judgement on the colours: I've never seen the blue/violet iridescence in a male mallard's cap - but that doesn't mean it isn't there!
thanks JimAs we have discussed many times while in the field. My memory for colour isn't the best except for the crop, this is exactly how it came from the camera
