This month's theme, selected by last month's winner, BillMarchel, is Flocks. From Bill, "Birds could be in flight, perched, or both. Non-captive only.
There seems to be no definitive number to define a flock. However, for the purpose of this contest, Bill has requested that entries include at least 5 birds.

In 2008, I headed to Arrowhead Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and got to see birds coming in to one of the few open water spots on a cold February morning. D70s with Nikkor 80-400mm 1:4-5.6, about f/5.6, 1/500 metering pattern. Jim Craig

hi really nice picture but unfortunately that is not a tern but is a black skimmer a gorgeous bird which very unfortunately definitely doesn't wander even remotely up to my neck of the woods , I have some pictures , on my site if interested, which I took when travelling about a month ago. Michael K
