"March Contest: Flocks"

US

This month's theme, selected by last month's winner, BillMarchel, is Flocks. From Bill, "Birds could be in flight, perched, or both. Non-captive only.”

There seems to be no definitive number to define a flock. However, for the purpose of this contest, Bill has requested that entries include at least 5 birds.

RULES:
--Post up to 7 images but only one image/post
--Include shooting info so we can learn from each other
--Previously posted images are welcome - but not previous contest winners
--When posting please do so by hitting the ‘reply’ link below this top post, not the reply link to another post.
--Include a title in the subject line
--Capture must be shot with a Nikon camera and any lens
--Comments are welcome but NO public critiquing, i.e., how to make it better. This is a contest so PM's are a better way to offer feedback
--WARNING posts that do not meet the spirit of the challenge cannot qualify as finalists, and may or may not be removed by the moderators

The top images will be selected by the previous months winner and be included in a poll for members to vote for the winning photo. The winning image with be added to the Wildlife Contest Winners Gallery

Good Luck

In 2008, I headed to Arrowhead Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and got to see birds coming in to one of the few open water spots on a cold February morning. D70s with Nikkor 80-400mm 1:4-5.6, about f/5.6, 1/500 metering pattern. Jim Craig

Sorry in advance for the bad pun.

hi really nice picture but unfortunately that is not a tern but is a black skimmer a gorgeous bird which very unfortunately definitely doesn't wander even remotely up to my neck of the woods , I have some pictures , on my site if interested, which I took when travelling about a month ago.
