Seeing Vaughn's (vcottman) awesome photos of coyotes and such from his recent outings to Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR reminded me that I hadn't posted any of mine from our visit in early October of last year. Just after sun-up I managed to creep up on this lil' guy and he was kind enough to let me snap a couple with aid from the monopod:

Everything was on the move, and these mule deer passed in front of us just ahead of a pair of Vaughn's coyotes, but the coydogs never gave me a good opportunity to capture them.

Hitting this reserve on the first morning after our flight was a fantastic way for us to acclimate to the elevation change we faced from Western New York to Denver and still have some fun. It was a quick trip from downtown, and very easy to access.
