Well, well, well Jim long time no hear. Good to see you back.

Great low angle, really like the monochromatic look of the image.

Is this one of the 2 owls I've been reading about in the St. Catherines area?

More of a record shot, as the field is a bit scruffy - needs more snow. I'd like to get some shots at ISO 200 - 250. Yes - if you want directions just let me know: it's only a stone's throw southwest of Green Ribbon.

Very nice Jim. i have been there quite a few times but he has
never been closer than a few hundred feet. I have seen some
amazing BIF shots of the two owls in that area

They are baiting the bird, so I refuse to post them.

I have a buddy who works near there and he said it's a mad house around that place. there are people all over the field causing the bird to fly.

Nice find!

I hope to locate one of these guys sometime, hopefully someplace that does not draw a crowd.

Looking forward to seeing what you get in better light!

It is great to see you posting again.

I like the white on white aspect of the image, Jim!

Last week I was walking into a deer woods and was shocked to see one of these guys atop a fence post 30 yards away! Of course, he flew off and roosted in a tree just out of good camera range!

At Thanksgiving I spotted one - likely this very bird - sitting in a lone cherry tree on my mother-in-law's farm. Of course, by the time I reached my car to get my gear she flew off.

Very nice Jim. Even though it is white on white I find the separation rather pleasing. He is in his element.

A nice perch would have helped, but he favours a steel pole in the vineyard next to the field.
