"Two more Eagles from L&D 14"

Eldridge, US

It was a crisp 12 degree day with clear skies so I decided to spend a few hours at L&D 14 to get some more Eagle shots. Here are two I’m pretty happy with. I was in the perfect spot for the second one, the Eagle flew directly at me after catching the fish.

It’s back to work tomorrow but the weekend is just a few days away.

Thanks for looking.

Dave

John,

Thanks, that's one of the great things about L&D 14 almost no matter where you setup you are close to the action. I had to crop the 2nd one more than I like, I wish I had my TC-1.7 on instead of the 1.4. All the more reason I need to keep going back for the next shot

Dan,

Thanks, you don't always notice their size until you see a close up of them. They are a powerful bird that is for sure.

Nice work Dave!

I might have bumped up the exposure some on the first shot. The head is not quite white and the sky is darker than I would expect. I really like his angle of flight in that shot!

That 300/2.8 is really working for you this year.

Dave,

Thanks for the feedback, I will be double checking my monitor calibration, I noticed they seemed a little darker on my iPad also.

I'm loving the 300/2.8 and now with the D300 its a major difference from the D90 and the 70-300. I got some great shots with the D90/70-300 pair but I really like my setup now!

Hope to see you at the dam this weekend.

Dave,

I haven't had the chance to export this image again but I think I found at least a partial reason for the color change. It's the second time it's happened to me. After exporting from Lightroom I opened these shots in Photoshop to add the border before posting. My color space in Photoshop was set to Adobe instead of sRGB.

Thanks again for pointing it out, I may have gone a long time before I noticed it if you hadn't said something.

Hope to see you at the dam tomorrow
