The AFS is blazing I took the following shot into full sun of this heron, of course I got a silhouette but when I opened the shadows, look at the sharp acquisition of the head-- I just aimed at the body. It is noisy bit look at the wings....

Today is the 2nd day with it....

That 300 lens is a joy to work with. You will grow to love it more and more with each use.

Love the photo too. Bathes are necessary for the bird---he'll just have to deal with it.
