There's nothing wrong with #3 o4 #4, nice images. #1: great timing. But for me, #2 has all the ingredients of a masterpiece - and then some. IMO, what lies between #2 and a true masterpiece is the repetition of the horizontal lines, which makes the photo somewhat static. I tried scrolling the photo so that the gravel road gets hidden from sight. I think cropping the photo like this helps in two ways: it loses all man-made features and the repetitivie horizontal lines. There are lots of things to like about #2, one of them is the relative phases of the wings of the birds. Cormorants do this too, the one behind captures the vortexes created by the one ahed. Other birds likely do it too, but cormorants often fly low in formations so that the synchronized flying is easy to see.

Regards, Antero

Beautiful shots! They do make me a bit homesick for the area though. I lived in Socorro for 25 years and do miss being so close to the Bosque Del Apache.

AS others have said, #2 is a beauty -- the harmonious colours are fabulous. The road takes away a bit from the feeling, but this is one I sure would not mind having in my set of "keepers". Must have been quite a day!
Take care,
CK

I'm told I'm a bit of a contrarian, so ...

I like #4. Were I sitting in my living room with that picture on the opposite wall, it would -- it does, expanded to fill my computer screen -- evoke peace and tranquility and and nerve calming.
