Rick,

These are excellent raptor shots. All three are good but I especially like #1 and #3. As mentioned in an earlier post the first is beautiful for the lighting and I love the sharpness of its eye and the way it looked to be eyeing you up! I like the third shot because of the action of the osprey lifting out of the water , the spray of the water showing this action, and I like the in focus reeds in the water that shows surroundings without detracting from the subject. Beautiful! This should be viewed by anybody that thinks their D90 isn't sufficient to capture great shots!

I usually go all the way down to Flamingo for most of my shooting.
When the water levels are low it can be quite a delight down there. Right now the water levels are above normal so except for the ospreys, it's hit or miss.

Hey John -

If you're in Boca you're right near Wakodahatchee and Green Cay. Both great spots if you just want to spend a few hours on "family break" and can't make the time commitment for Flamingo. December you may be able to get some shots of Great Horned owl nests in Okeeheelee or Loxahatchee (ask the rangers there). Both up Boca way.

You definitely won't get skunked at Wakodahatchee or Green Cay - and the female Harrier at Green Cay is pretty consistent with her rounds in morning and evening.
