All, Not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this post but since it's a question regarding wildlife photography, it seemed logical. Also, since some of the best wildlife photos I've ever seen get posted here, I'd like to take advantage of the wealth of experience found here. I have a wildlife photography trip to Spain in October. It's my first trip overseas for the sole purpose of wildlife photography so I'm trying to think through my options. Additionally, it's also a test run for next year's trip to Zambia. I'm thinking that on the long end I'll use my D300s w/1.4TC and my 200-400 f/4. I also am considering as the second combo my D3s w/2.0TC and a 70-200 f/2.8. Those two combos give me two f/5.6 lenses with effective ranges of 420-840mm and 140-400mm. I use the first combo frequently to shoot birds and am comfortable with that. My real question is one of image quality using the 2.0 III on the 70-200. I saw a discussion a little over a year ago where it appeared there were some concerns with the IQ using the 2.0TC. However, the latest 2.0TC was relatively new and most comments were about the older 2.0 in combination with the 70-200. I'd very much appreciate any thoughts you have on that combo or any of the combos for that matter. Best regards, Tom
