"House Finch"

Dry Fork, US

Photographed this guy late one evening this past week just as the sun had set. I personally liked the contrast between his color and the surroundings. I pushed the ISO further then I usually like to due to the low light and cloud cover but I am pleased with how it turned out. As always, comments and critique welcomed!

Nice one, Mike!
This is one of the better pictures I've seen of a House Finch. The light is just superb.

ISO 1600 Mike? well done! Did you use any nise reduction in PP or just in camera?
A very, very nice shot for the high ISO, low shutter speed and full zoom on the Sigma 150-500. Exposure looks spot on on my monitor.

1600 Richard! I took care of my noise reduction in post. I applied a round of NR to the background only and finished up with a round of sharpening to the finch only. I was quite pleased with the detail retained in the finch a well as the color. Thanks for having a look and commenting!
