"Mister Crankypants"

Marietta, US

We stopped by St Augustine on our way to Orlando this morning and spent a couple of hours at the Alligator Farm. The rookery was shoulder to shoulder birds, and lots of squabbling was going on.

Thanks Gary. There was another egret just out of frame and they seemed to be competing for the same branch.

Glad to see you were able to visit the rookery. I love the snowy egrets - they sound so crabby and are very territorial little birds.

Charlie - do a crop of it's face and it would fit right into this month's contest - that is one mean ugly looking expression!

Nicely exposed, the lens/TC combo seemed to retain a lot of detail. Heard & read great things about the variety of birds there, will be on my list of place on our next trip to Florida.
