"SB 900, D80 - how to chnge flash zoom"

i use this w 85mm 1.4 for portraits and am curious how to manually set the zoom on the flash.

Looked at manual but hard to make sense of.

I know probably better to diffuse the light but am thinking about backing away from subject and use flash to highlight the subject and separate better from the background. Maybe also helpful in balancing light for sunset-on-the-beach shots from a little distance (?).
Thx
g

I also have the SB900.

To go to manual zoom

I also have the SB900.

To go to Manual zoom:

Go into the Menu and select 'M Zoom'

Select 'ON'

Exit the menu

Adjust the zoom by pressing the zoom button. It steps from 17 mm to 200 mm at pre-fixed focal lengths.

Hope that helps
