I was thinking of the Sigma ring flash, but it seems it may not be the best option and I don't really want to spend the extra dollars on the Nikon Ring Flash -
Has anyone used or have thoughts on the Metz Mecablitz 15 MS-1 Macro Ringlight

If you're drawing that conclusion from my comment in your other thread, I think you're drawing the wrong conclusion. (And since there are extremely few users of ring flashes around here...) The Sigma works quite well.

I have been using Metz flashes for decades and they have always been extremely reliable and served me very well.
While I don't have the 15 MS-1 Ring Flash it should work the same way as the Nikon R1 system does controlled by the built-in Speedlight in Commander mode or SB-700, SB-800, SB-900, SB-910, SU-800, or one of the Metz Speedlights with Commander mode.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!
