"SB-26"

Can the SB-26 be connected, with a PC cord, to a non Nikon camera (Mamiya 645AF in my case)? If so, should the 'shoe' contacts at the bottom of the SB-26 be shorted or insulated from one another?

I'm pretty sure you can connect up the SB26 via the PC cord to any camera. I would leave the contacts at the bottom alone.

You will need a male PC/male PC cord. I believe the foot configuration is standard, except for the addition of the dedicated contacts. If it was me, I would just use a synch cord. You can cut a little square of plastic, such as the packaging from a set of four AA batteries, to slip between the foot and shoe, of the camera or a bracket, if you desire.
