Nope. The SU-4 is not sold for 5 bucks; why mess with other flash unit that might hurt it?

I have, and it doesn't work.

Specifically, a Vivitar 730AF...I thought it SHOULD work, but I guess I thought wrong. So...what I have to do is use the Viv as the master on my camera, and use my SB28 on the SU-4.

I don't know WHY it doesn't work, but I think it has something to do with the 'ready' signal from an actual Nikon flash unit, which produces a clear 'wheeee-ooooo' out of the su-4. With the viv flash, it's barely audible at all, so there probably isn't enough voltage in the viv's ready circuit to power the su-4. Someday I may get ambitious, open up the su-4 and see if there's an easy way to give a bit of extra voltage to make it work with all flashes...but that's a rainy-day thing...

Mike.

Vivitar makes their own cordles remote the SL-2, which sells for $35 at Adorama.
