The SB600 does not have any connection for an external high voltage input, while the SB800 does.
I haven't seen one, but the Quantum QB1+ and QB1C work with the SB600. I think there is an adapter that fits into the battery compartment and a couple of leads coming out that go to the pack. This pack will not cycle the flash significantly faster, but it will greatly increase the number of flashes you can get per charge. http://www.qtm.com/QuantumBatteries/?res_set=yes&res=1280&resh=1050
I have used the Quantum Turbo Compact with the SB800. It supplies high voltage to the high voltage input to the flash. This significantly speeds up the cycling of the flash, but it also makes it easy to melt the flash. You have to stop shooting for several minutes to let it cool down. http://www.qtm.com/Turbo/?res_set=yes&res=1280&resh=1050
