In the past I mainly use medium format cameras with Metz 45CL4 for wedding work. For indoor and outdoor work I prefer to underexpose my flash output by 2 stops, ie. lens set at f8 my flash at f4. I'm using f90x with an SB28 with automatic balanced fill. I would prefer to have control, is this possible with my newly purchased Nikon equipment?

Of course you can, with the compensation feature on the flash. Have a great time JRP (Nikonian at the north-eastern Mexican desert) My profile Previous photographic journey, before Nikonians: A Brief Love Story
