just wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with their 995. I've had 2 now and the zoom lotor seems to jam resulting in having to remove batteries to stop this. Any other problems users are having, I'd be most interested.
I have a Coolpix 990 and have heard of similar problems with that camera for some people. A zoom problem is likely to be mechanical, so you may need to send yours in for repair. The 990 had a bug in the firmware that in somewhat unusual camera operation could cause the autofocus motor to go wild and damage the mechanism. It could be possible that the zoom problem is firmware related, but I'd check with Nikon before things get worse.

Used the 995 quite extensively on a recent trip, and had no problem of any kind.
I got mine replaced under warranty 4 months ago and no more problems. Takes excellent images, autofocus is a bit slow though but i think this is a problem with most digicams unless you pay for the SLR's.Let me know when you get yours what you think
I have one and have been using it fairly often over the past 3 months. No problem so far... touch wood. One thing I have been trying to find out is how to get pictures with shallow DOF. No matter how wide the apurture the DOF seems to be fairly deep.
