"Coolpix 950 won't mount"



          

When I try to download my pictures in MAC OS9.2 I get the same error message...can't find camera. I've updated the NikonView software for 9.x to no avail. Any ideas.

Is your USB port built in or an add-on card? I found a problem report at dpreview.com that Nikonview may not work with some USB cards on the Mac.

If you can't find a fix, I'd advise getting a card reader and avoiding NikonView (it's pretty lame software anyway). ACDSee is the most popular file viewer as far as I know...GraphicConverter is another you could check out. A card reader will transer your files much faster than the camera will.

Thanks BJ but my camera actually uses a serial port. I have a card reader on my PC that I am currently using...unfortunately I need to then save to disk and copy to my Mac...a pain.

If you haven't asked there, I'd suggest you post your question at dpreview. Post in both the Nikon Talk forum and the Mac Tools forum. I think that's your best bet for some troubleshooting help on this one (be sure to mention the connection method you're using)...
