"D50 and slave"

I love my D50 and the more I play with it the more things I want to try. Namely portraits. I want to start small and maybe get a couple of Alien Bees (400's), a soft box and a reflector or two. However I'm not sure what to use to set off the bees? Any advice would be welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Steve

On board flash and set it to M and 1/16 power.

Set camera to M between 1/60 and 1/500 for good flash synch.

There are other solutions but this one is cheap and will work in any room up to 40 by 40. If not up the power.
