"Okay D50 crew new assignment(colorful subjects)"

Memphis, US

Sorry I slacked off lately but I moderate now on another photo site and I have been shooting mostly Kodachrome with my FM3a for a scap book. But I am back to pushing my D50 to the max

Okay the last assignment feeling was great I was glad that another D50 user came up with that one. Now lets push the D50's dynamic range and color reproduction.

Lets do an assignment that is very colorful this can encompass anything as long as it is bursting with color! Try to capture wide range of colors to see how great the D50 is.

I am going to the zoo tomorrow so that is where I will try to capute the rainbow. Have fun Jim

I will use film until the last roll and last lab are gone. Go Navy

For my third pic of the day I had to do this one. Took it at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden a bit over a week ago. It's busy but I like it. EXIF data included and it's also in my gallery if you don't want to look it up.

Stunning examples so far. The D50 is such an incredible performer when it comes to color.

I loved the composition on the butterfly pic and also the concept on "Authorized Vechicles Only". Both great keepers.

Here's a couple of mine...

Freesia
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D w/ Kenko extension tubes
f/4.0

Great concept James, I'm looking forward to the next one.

I hadn't noticed that the camera had pushed the ISO up to 1000, but I like the grainy effect it's given. I couldn't resist playing around with it in Paint Shop Pro, but I think it may be a bit OTT.

So, I'm standing at a street corner in Bridgeport, and I'm complaining to myself about the weather, and how I can't find anything colorful, because it was been so rainy around here. Then a truck pulls up, and stops right in front of me

Here's a lucky picture I caught this weekend of a bubble floating above my garage door. My kids were out blowing bubbles and I grabbed my camera and caught this one - http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i139/Kamandante/Bubble.jpg

One other one of my 3 year old trying his hand at batting (t-ball style) - http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i139/Kamandante/DSC_1268.jpg

I thought the bright blue and red provided a nice contrast and the D50 with the 18-55mm kit lense did a fairly decent job of capturing the color.

I stumbled in here and I hope no one takes this the wrong way.

These are terrific images and certain proof that you don't have to own a D70s, D200, D2X, or any "better" Nikon DSLR to be a true photographer.

Great work!

Shows just how capable the D50 is when proper utilized!

Pastels are colours too!

A new shopping centre being built in the city center, I liked the lines and the depth the glass gives.

The second at the same time , the pond outside our office was in deep shadow and the late sun was really bright on the trees and guildhall tower opposite, it was really windy - near gale force so the water surface was very active. I think resizing the picure has degraded the colours and lost some of the sense of movement - its very pretty at 15x10, but I include it to give an idea - the D50 registers some really subtle colour ranges (honest).

Okay now that I stepped in it. I love both, I am kind of a motorcycle buff who no longer rides because my daughter saw me crash and has asked me not to(I sneek on my Dads occsionally). I had a Harley and my Dad has a 2 Hogs one being a 1947 knucklehead the other a 2006 Softail Classic he just got.

Ack! I slid right past the Verdel and didn't see it. Nice pic. If you run across any board bikes, post pics of them too. You can never see too many pics of vintage race iron.

FMJ. If you liked the Verdel you might like some of the other shots taken at the Sammy Miller Museum http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e170/DerekJordan/Sammy%20Miller%20Motorcycle%20Museum/

Norton Low Boy, Norton Kneeler, Honda 50cc TT racer, Henderson, MV Augusta, Brough Superior etc..

And tomorrow I'm off to Brooklands, the world's first purpose built racing circuit... much of the banking is still in place, the old clubhouse, pits.. car and bike collections plus aircraft... just hope the weather is good.

I get to go to work. Post 'em when you got 'em.

Loved the shots from the SM museum. I'm probably the only other person on here that remembers the ****storm he caused when he switched to Yamaha

Thanks Jim! Most of the umbrellas on the beach were the rented blue ones. This one stood just out and caught my eye. I loved the colorfulness of it.
