Hi Bill,

There is nothing wrong with the D50.

>Where is the best place to get a Nikon 70 -300.

I would check:
www.berger-bros.com. (Nikonians Sponsor)
www.adorama.com?kbid=64628
www.bhphotovideo.com
www.calumetphoto.com
www.centralcamera.com
www.robertsimaging.com

To name a few. All are well known Nikon Authorized Dealers.

The Nikon D3200 w/18-55mm VR is selling for about $546.95 brand new.
The D3100 w/18-55mm bag, and SD card for about $446.95.

Best Regards,
Marty

Hey Bill,

I personally recommend to first support your local
Nikon Authorized Dealer(s).

The photo store where I buy my gears made me the same prices
than the very big stores and most of the business of the photo clubs
I work with is going there too.

I fell good supporting a family business.

I agree with support your local stores; however, many times, not easy to do..when I lived in Atlanta, it was only 15 min to several great store; however, for many, it's not easy.....

BTW, look at the D5200 from Costco.....they sell nice set ups with lense combos at great prices...

Also, I like AMAZON.COM for specific purchases.....of camera gear....great return policies...

For lenses, I usually go to BH or Adorama (I've had good experiences with them)...not bad mouthing others...just no experience...
