Hi everyone, I am a newbie here. I hope to find tons of beneficial information about my D60 and learn how to use it. Before I can use it, I have an issue.
For whatever reason, my flash is not working on the camera even when it is set to Auto shoot mode. The flash says it is on auto but will not work. When I half press the shoot button the flash pops up and the camera focuses, but when I repress it halfway, it clicks like the flash is trying to pop up, but the flash itself will not flash when taking a picture.
Any help appreciated in advance!!!

Welcome to Nikonians!
Sorry to hear of your problem.
First are you by any chance wearing a baseball cap when you are shooting? Don't laugh! The brim of the cap can push the built in flash down slightly which will prevent the flash from firing.
Make sure the flash is all the way up.
Wait a few seconds after the flash pops up for the capacitor to charge before you release the shutter. If it still doesn't fire it probably requires service.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!
