This is the Joshua Tree forest in western Arizona about 45 minutes after sunset. I moved back and zoomed in to make the apparent size of the moon larger relative to the tree.

Almost has and HDR quality to it, were the vehicles stationary? At 1/5 sec it seem that you'd get a blurred shot.......VERY nice shot.

Hi Beatkat. Yes, the vehicles were actually stopped. There was a traffic light in front of the gray sedan so I took the opportunity while they weren't moving. I was also leaning/bracing against a traffic sign for added stability while I took this image. Thanks for looking!

Busy little dock there.....it's fun to be up so high, a very cool perspective, I remember cruising the eastern Caribbean, and being up about 12 stories, almost surreal....nice shot. Cheers!

Many thanks for the comments Bearcat. We were on our way to Simi, from Rhodes. Took this about 2am from the upper deck, as you say is nice being so high and able to see lots going on. The engines were stopped, so I was able to use the handrail as a tripod to give more stability.

Previously posted shot, but one night shot I love. Fishing boats in the Old Port, Portland, Maine about 10pm. It had just finished raining and the City was eerily quiet, very fun time to be out shooting....this is looking down the pier into the Gulf of Maine.....decided not to frame the shot for posting to enhance the blackness of the sea off the left of the composition....."fade to black" as it were.

Like the calmness this gives with the appearance of slight mist after rain, looks as if it was a little warm as well. Great reflections too.

Great night shot.
