"Screen protector for D60"

Guildford, GB

Any recommendations for a good brand of screen protector for the LCD on a D60?

Thx,

The only ones that I've seen are the kind that you have to apply some kind of sticky-#### adhesive to the screen to apply the protectors. I ain't doin' that! I'd rather just keep it wiped off with an old cotton diaper or whatever. It appears to me that my D60's screen feels more like glass as opposed to the softer type screen so I'm not gonna worry too much about mine.

I used the ones from ScreenguardZ on my D40. http://www.screenguardz.com/default.asp

I bought these for my Garmin GPS that I use on my motocycle and cut them down on a paper cutter to fit the Nikon. You get 15 for $10.00. They have custom sizes and they stick with out any glue.

Isn't it better to use one of these?

http://media.sourcingmap.com/uxcell/images/item/n/06a/ux_a06031000ux0017_ux_n.jpg

Not sure if the D60 supports it but the D80 comes with one.

Thanks for the suggestion, but sadly the D60 can't take one of these - there are no slots to hold it. I have one on my D200 and was surprised to find there's no equivalent for the D60.

You could always try boca photo, as they have tons of Nikon accessories to include screen protecting devices for the D40/X/60.

From the Fellows Company, a product called WriteRight. Can be purchased at office supply stores among others. This is a stick on item that will need to be trimmed to shape. Out of the pkg it is 3" X 4.5". It is used on PDAS and cell phones as a screen protector.
I hope this helps.

Take a look at the Invisible Shields. http://www.zagg.com I've been using these for years on my iPods and picked up one for my D60 screen. They go on with water and leave no residue if you take them off. Still once they are on, they stay on until you peel them off - they don't start pulling up at corners like some do. Unless you hold the screen at an angle, they are impossible to see and even then all you see is a bit of texture. Check out the video on the site to see how tough these are. For the price and protection they are hard to beat.

Thanks everyone for you advice. I've ordered a Zagg one from the US - the stockists in the UK seem to sell the iPod ones only. Still, free shipping, which is cool.

I've got these on my D80 and D40. I just ordered a new one last week from HK and it arrived in about 4 business days. I've been super-pleased with this design.

Remember if you but a "sun screen" pop up screen protector, take into consideration it may block the auto screen shut off sensors!

Does this bend in at all? I'm afraid that if you keep your camera in a case and put pressure on the back of it, it may bend in slightly and scratch the LCD. This always happens with my cellphones where the plastic is slightly raised above the surface of the phone but touches the phone when there is pressure put on the plastic.

Just got mine, doesn't seem to bend at all, fits perfectly over the LCD.

The best screen protector I know is GGS hard glass protector, it comes exactly the size to fit your camera, in my case I order the protector for the D60.
It is easy to apply and the glass is flexible, the perfect protection for your screen.
I bought mine from ebay UK, seller KatrinaSource.

I use the GGS protectors on my D700 and they work very well.

I prefer these to the plastic guard because the screen image is less distorted.

They were the perfect size and easy to apply.
