Very nice. I like this one alot. One tiny criticism... maybe a little less blank sky and a little more of the railroad tracks. Otherwise very very nice.

Hi Folks:

Well, this one is completely serendipitous. I was out walking my daughter in her stroller and we saw these two gents coming toward us. Just had to take it. Perhaps it fits under street snap. Nothing technically great -- but fun. Nothing much interesting in this shot, but I just had to share it with you all!

EXIF: Nikon D40, ISO 200, 1/400, f/4.5, 70mm, Direct Sunlight WB, No Flash, Handheld

Thanks again folks, I'll try to post something else later,

Best,

Scampi

Of course, the trident. I forgot that. I don't get to see cars like that anymore living in Montana. The most exotic thing around here is a Mini Cooper S.

Thanx Andrew, it kind of grew on me too. I ended up making a 13"X19" print of this shot, framed it and placed it on my wall at work. It draws some interesting comments, even from non-race fans.

PS: I took a moment to check out your blog. Very nice work.

Ueno Traffic - D40 - F/11 - 4sec - ISO200 - 18mm - AutoWB - B&W in Photoshop

Taken on a recent holiday in Japan. Used a Minolta x300 in the early 90s but only just got into DSLR when I bought a D40 in July. Can't believe I survived so long without one! Cheers, Ron.

Ueno Train - D40 - F/18 - 1.3sec - ISO200 - 55mm - AutoWB

As per my previous post, this was also taken in Japan last month.

I'd left my monopod in the hotel so I was pleased this turned out well considering my precarious balancing arrangement on a handrail! Ron, Belfast.

In response to Reply # 0

Hi Folks:

Not to repeat any previous shots posted, but I just had to try this. It doesn't have to count if it doesn't really fit the theme of the challenge:

http://ncordova.smugmug.com/photos/220348466-L.jpg
EXIF: Nikon D40, ISO 200, f/20, 10 sec. exposure, Cloudy WB, 35mm, with a Nikon 18-70mm AF-S lens.

Holding camera on tripod in passenger side of the car (my wife was driving) coming home from the store.

The photo was post-processed on Photoshop CS3, primarily for saturation, and using Pinch to straighten the lines toward the center.

I find it too abstract and too "clean" but again I was having fun and playing.

Thanks again for the opportunity.

Scampi

The car is actually a replica (made by Westfield) of a Lotus Eleven. Taken at Aspen Raceway in Colorado. The simple, fluid lines of this car are a far cry from today's race cars.

I'd guess it would be pretty hard to figure out what this is if you didn't know but it's the engine bay of a 1921 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost at the National Auto Museum in Reno, Nevada. I find it hard to get decent shots in auto museums but this one fascinated me.

I'll take the plunge once again...

D40 :: 18mm :: iso 200 :: f/22 :: 14 seconds :: no flash :: in-camera b/w

Shot in-car while driving home very late one night on Interstate 95 in South Florida. Traveling at about 60-70mph. The light trails in the top two-thirds of the shot are from overhanging street lamps; bottom third are my headlights. Lower border is a blurred windshield wiper/dash board conglomeration. No cropping/editing of any kind. I did my best to hand-hold the camera but, as you can imagine, camera shake was *quite* evident! Thanks for looking.

Edit: Umm, forgot to title it... How's about "Light Storm"

I was out shooting last weekend in hopes of getting some photos to enter in last month's Fall Colors contest when I came acrossed this old, rusty semi-trailer in the middle of a big field. I found it strange that it was just sitting out there but it did have some interesting shapes and texture so I snapped a few pictures of it.

The Calatrava addition to the Milwaukee (Wisconsin) Art Museum is a work of genius. But, how do you find an interesting way to photograph a white building against an often featureless sky? This was one attempt.

Took my camera into the bar last night to snap some photos of my friends playing shuffle board. Just before returning the camera to my car I snapped this shot of some cars passing by. The exposure is all wrong as I had it set for shooting in a dark bar but it turned out a lot more interesting that it would have otherwise. I used Picture Project to enhance the dark tones.

I was supposed to be photographing boats but I heard these planes of the "Patrulla Agulla", the Spanish aerobatic team, approaching and quickly grabbed this shot. All I had to do was a little cropping. I got lucky this time I think.

Not all of us are slaves to wheels. Here's my buddy going upstream on the Colorado river above Lee's Ferry this last week. The only way to get around is by boat, no roads and the canyon walls are too steep to hike along.

Hi all

This is my first post in this forum. I hope you enjoy my photo.
It was taken just before dawn Sept 2007. A car was passing over the bridge probably on their way to work! Lucky for me I had a free day to be outdoors capturing moments like this!

Here's one I took on the weekend on a quick trip up to Fort St. John BC.

It was about 4:30PM and the sun was just setting after we landed. This was some of the nicest light that we had this weekend. About the only thing that would have made the picture better is if I hadn't shot through the glass.
